Terms of Use
1. Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and the MacroCart team (“we,” “us”) governing your use of the MacroCart app and website (the “Service”). By downloading or using MacroCart, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.
2. Your licence to use MacroCart
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use MacroCart on Apple devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use, in line with the App Store Terms of Service and these Terms.
3. No account required
MacroCart does not require you to create an account. Your access to paid features is tied to the Apple account you used to purchase, and is verified on your device. If you reinstall the app or switch to a new device using the same Apple account, use Restore Purchases in the app to recover your access.
4. Subscriptions, free trial, and payments
- Plans. MacroCart offers auto-renewing subscriptions (for example, monthly and annual) and, in some regions, a one-time “pay once” purchase. The exact options and prices for your country are always shown in the app before you buy.
- Free trial. Where offered, a free trial (for example, 7 days) automatically converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
- Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period and price until you cancel. Your Apple account is charged when each new period begins.
- Cancelling. Manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions, at least 24 hours before the next renewal. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- One-time purchase. If you buy the “pay once” option, there is no recurring charge — it’s a single purchase that unlocks the app.
- Payments & refunds. All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your card details and generally cannot issue refunds directly; refund requests are handled by Apple under its policies.
- Price changes. We may change prices for new purchases or future renewals. Where required, Apple will notify you and ask for your consent before an increased subscription price takes effect.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service — for example, by reverse-engineering it (except as permitted by law), interfering with its operation, attempting to bypass purchase or entitlement checks, or using it to break any law.
6. Health & nutrition disclaimer (important)
MacroCart provides general nutrition information and goal-based guidance for informational purposes only. It is not medical, dietary, nutritional, or health advice, is not a medical device, and is not a substitute for the advice of a qualified doctor, dietitian, or other healthcare professional.
- Always read the label. Product information — including ingredients, nutrition, and allergen data — comes largely from public and community-maintained sources such as Open Food Facts and may be incomplete, out of date, or inaccurate. Allergen and diet flags are best-effort and may miss or misidentify ingredients. Always read the actual physical product label before purchasing or consuming, especially if you have a food allergy or intolerance.
- Do not rely on MacroCart for medical decisions. If you have a medical condition, allergy, or dietary requirement, consult a qualified professional. If you think you’re having an allergic reaction or medical emergency, seek immediate medical help.
- Verdicts, scores, and macro targets are estimates to help you make everyday choices — they are not guarantees of any health outcome.
7. Third-party data and services
MacroCart uses product data from third parties, including Open Food Facts. We don’t control and aren’t responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or availability of third-party data. Your purchases are handled by Apple under its own terms.
8. Intellectual property
MacroCart, its name, logo, design, and software are owned by us and protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms don’t grant you any right to our trademarks or to copy, modify, or redistribute the app.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data shown will be accurate.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your reliance on nutrition or allergen information in the app. To the extent any liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim.
11. Changes to the Service and these Terms
We may update, change, or discontinue features, and we may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we’ll update the “last updated” date above. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Termination
You may stop using MacroCart at any time by deleting the app. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including disclaimers and limitation of liability) will continue to apply.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, except where your local consumer-protection laws give you additional rights that cannot be waived.
14. Apple App Store terms
The following applies because you obtained MacroCart through Apple’s App Store:
- These Terms are between you and us only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.
- Your licence to use the app is limited to the Apple-branded devices you own or control, as set out in the App Store Terms of Service.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. Support questions go to support@getmacrocart.app.
- If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price (if any); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
- Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the app, including product-liability, legal/regulatory, or consumer-protection claims.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
- You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as “terrorist supporting,” and that you are not on any U.S. Government restricted-parties list.
